Financing for Saudi Electric Company’s Qurayyah, the world’s largest independent power project, has closed after initial delays.

The $2.071 billion debt financing for the 3927MW Qurayyah power project, a venture sponsored by Saudi Electric Company and an Acwa-led consortium, has closed.

Three export credit agencies – US Ex-Im, Euler Hermes and Kexim – are backing the world’s largest independent power project which was initially scheduled to close on 1 November.
