British Prime Minister David Cameron focuses on SME exporters to help overcome the UK’s escalating trade deficit.

Speaking at SMEs exporting and growth conference at London’s BFI IMAX today, the UK Prime Minister David Cameron announced a three-pronged approach to get Britain’s SMEs selling abroad.
Cameron described the government’s “laser-like” focus at championing UK commerce, cutting out cumbersome regulation and developing further financial resources for the UK’s small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs).
Cameron comments: “If we could increase the number of SMEs that sell overseas by 100,000 it has the potential to add £30 billion ($47.8 billion) to the UK economy. In other words if we boost the number who export from around one in five today to over one in four, we could pretty much wipe out the trade deficit and create tens of thousands of jobs at the same time. That is the prize we are going for, it’s ambitious I know, but I believe we can do it.”...
