With export credit locked in for Qatar’s Barzan gas project, commercial financing proposals have been delayed due to Eid.

The deadline for banks to respond with financing proposals for a $5 billion debt package for the Barzan gas project in Qatar has been put back to Wednesday 7 September.
The initial response date was set for yesterday, 31 August 2011, but the deadline was extended to give regional banks time after Eid to respond.
The debt comprises around $2.7 billion of export credit agency (ECA) funding and a $2.3 billion uncovered commercial tranche, which will be the largest internationally syndicated loan from Qatar...
