Trade Finance Awards for Excellence 2011: Global and EMEA category results.

This year the Trade Finance Awards for Excellence honours those institutions that have truly gone that extra distance required to meet the needs of their clients, be they corporates, governments or financial institutions.

Global trade was held up as the best way to revive the global economy in the post global financial crisis world, but there have been significant challenges along the way. Continuing turmoil in the Middle East and North Africa, and the Japanese earthquake and tsunami, are just two of the events that have impacted global trade flows and perceptions of risk against the more routine ebb and flow of elections, commodity pricing cycles and speculation, regulatory changes, foreign exchange shifts, and trade agreements that impact the day-to-day workings of trade finance.
