Winner: SantanderHighly commended: Deutsche Bank On Friday, 27 February 2010, an 8.8 magnitude earthquake struck central Chile. The regions of Chile most affected by the earthquake accounted for approximately 12% of Santander’s loan portfolio and the bank immediately implemented a number of actions to keep the bank functioning and help the country overall. The bank worked 48 hours non-stop over the weekend following the earthquake and by Monday 1st 2010, all systems were up and running, including all remote channels.
