Papa New Guinea’s ECA-backed record liquefied natural gas project is set to close, oversubscribed, next month.

Banks and export credit agencies (ECA) are set to sign a record financing this March to develop a liquefied natural gas project in Papua New Guinea (PNG LNG).
ExxonMobil is leading a consortium to develop the $14 billion project and financing is set to close by mid March according to sources close to the deal.
In total the project is expected to cost $18.3 billion and once developed will double the gross domestic product of Papua New Guinea.
