ECAs continue support for Eskom

Export credit continues to play a strong role in Eskom’s plans for expansion. Two export credit deals have recently signed for the South African power company.

South African power company, Eskom, has the backing of the French and German export credit agencies, Coface and Euler Hermes, for loans towards the Medupi and Kusile power plants.
The power plant projects are part of Eskom’s Rand 385 billion ($50.5 billion) power expansion programme.
Coface, is covering a Eu1.185 billion ($1.7 billion) fixed interest rate loan to Eskom. The mandated lead arrangers are BNP Paribas, Calyon, Société Générale,...
