UN boosts African coffee and cotton trade

Efforts to bolster the coffee and cotton sectors in east Africa are
underway with a three year export finance scheme launched by the
United Nations Common Fund for Commodities. The initiative is a
?warehouse receipt system' and will see exporters using stocks of
either commodity at selected warehouses as collateral for credit.
The principal targets of the scheme are small exporters that would
otherwise encounter difficulties in obtaining financing...
