Swedes and Danes deliver in style

SEK
The diversity of Scandinavian goods, and the worldwide consumer respect they engender, provides a basis for the air of optimism about the export market that prevails across the region. Lars Andersson of Svensk Exportkredit (SEK) cites the continuing rise in volume of both export and infrastructure financing throughout 2004 as evidence of the continuing growth in exports from Sweden. The total volume of export credits issued by SEK in 2004 reached approximately $950 million, up 12% on the previous year.

While export credits granted by SEK are usually guaranteed by the Export Credits Guarantee Board (EKN), cooperation agreements for guarantees also exist between SEK and Finnish export credit agency Finnvera, as well as with GIEK of Norway.
